Best fish and chips I have ever had so far. Fish is so tasty and crispy with lots of chips. Fell in love with their homemade tartare sauce. If you are in the area, I highly recommend to get a reservation specially in the evening as the place is usually packed with people. All in all, it’s a perfect 10/10 coz ambience is good, food is great and staff are super friendly. Will definitely go back.
For the first time, after many many takeaways, I had lunch in. I enjoyed it very much. We had some cod, some scampi and chips with gravy: all so delicious. It's probably one of the very few fish and chips places I have ever great tasty chips. The service was pleasant and quick and the price pretty decent for the quality. A must for fish and chips lovers.
This is a place you may wish to revisit. In my opinion, it's currently the best fish and chips restaurant in this area. The fish is fresh, crispy, and generously portioned. The homemade tartar sauce is exceptionally flavorful. I hope they maintain this high standard of culinary excellence.
Always go to Godfrey’s for a takeaway, but this time we decided the dine in. Food is always incredible. Fish is a perfect size. Chip potions are great. And the mushy peas are AMAZING!! Good selection of fish, pies, etc. Kids portions as well. Staff were friendly and lovely. Always welcoming! Recommend highly to everyone living in Harpenden. Always busy on the weekend so call your order in advance. Take your own bag as well. Homemade tartare sauce is banging, you can buy jars and then retake them to refill. Such a good idea.
Heard many good things about Godfrey’s and it lived up to expectations. Easy ordering system and the food was ready on time. The fish was delicious and the best chips I’ve had for a very long time. Will definitely be back!
